Art Appreciation
Created in September of 2006, the Artist's Cooperative of Savanna is a non-profit organization consisting of members from Carroll County Illinois and the surrounding communities and states.

We are representative of the 321 Art Gallery and the Carroll County Artisans.

The 321 Art Gallery is located in Savanna, Illinois in the Northwest corner of Illinois along the Mississippi River. Many of our members are from the local area like in Savanna, Illinois, Mount Carroll, Illinois, Thomson, Illinois, Sabula, Iowa, up in Hanover, Illinois and even some from Wisconsin. These members are dedicated to fine art and sharing its benefits with the community.

321 Art Gallery is a place to find unique, one of a kind gifts. Works include watercolors, pastels, oil landscapes and regional scenes as well as photography, jewelery, pottery, sculpture, and mixed media. Featured Artist
The featured artist is Diane Michele Wall - Photographer from Davenport, Iowa.

Diane Michele Wall
The Artists Cooperative of Savanna will hold an Open House reception for Diane Michele Wall from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, January 9th at the 321 Art Gallery on Main St. in Savanna. The public is invited to attend this free gathering to meet the artist and see her exhibit.

Wall has been interested in art since grade school when she had her first studio in the basement of the family home. After getting her degree in Business Administration and Accounting she opened a wedding cake shop and spent 16 years using sugar as an artistic medium. Health problems and a stressful life took her in a different direction and she then opened "Inspirational Images", a studio where photography meets the stained glass world.

"As life evolves, we grow and so does our art," she said. "And most of us end up doing the same things that made us happy as children. I have merged my love of photography and my interest in church windows into a combination of color and artistic design where photographs are imaged on glass in a solvent ink process and finished off with stained glass."

Wall currently has an environmentally safe studio where all leftover scraps of glass are used to create new items such as glass flowers, jewelry, coasters and bowls. Whenever possible she prefers to use lead free products and will do custom glass design work for special orders.

In her photography work, her preference is for Canon equipment and mainly uses a Canon 20-D camera, an EOS 3 camera and a number of L series lenses in her endeavors. All of her photographic prints are produced by a quality lab, of limited edition, hand signed and numbered.

Wall has had the good fortune to travel to many places in this world and and is pleased to share her photos and memories with others. She hopes you will enjoy viewing her photography as much as she enjoyed recording what she saw on film. She now owns a shop in Davenport, IA that has a variety of hand crafted gift items and is also available for speaking engagements and classes.

Her views on art and creativity are that "You should be your own work of art. Cultivate your own friends, passions and distinctive style as an artist in order to learn, dare and grow. This will enhance what you do and the beauty you create will be the bonus of a well-lived life."

Wall's exhibit will remain on display until February 13th along with the current display of jewelry, greeting cards, pottery, woodworking, posters, knitted and crocheted goods, cloth items, other glasswork, collages, drawings and paintings made by ACS members and consignees.
